The Apothecary Diaries has a chokehold on me…

I recently watched Perfect Blue for the first time, and it was amazing. A wonderful, beautifully drawn horror seeped in early internet and late 90’s tech. I’M OLD GUYS, and my little heart loved it. But it made me realize that I seek out that 90’s anime look in everything. You know the look. Everything I’ve seen the past few years has been stiff, clean; I feel like I really started to notice it after Sword Art Online. While the designs are cute, I just miss the gritty look of older works.

It really fucks me up for venturing into new stuff. I honestly can’t tell when the last time I started a something produced in, like, the past 5 years. It had to be My Hero… in 2019.

So, The Apothecary Diaries was not on my radar. My best friend and her son really loved it, I knew the protagonist was short and often talked about other women’s breasts. BUT YA’LL, i gave it a shot when I couldn’t find a show on crunchyroll with an English dub I didn’t hate. And I was wrong.

This show is surprisingly beautiful, I’m addicted to the plot, Jinshi is my new boyfriend, and I may have already started throwing fanart in my sketchbook. D: Should I buy all the light novels?

That is all.
